Crystal:

See being nervous is usually a sense of not being confident or
prepared and you came out "smoking" on this one.

I'm not sure what the problem with the tables behind the waiter
station is. You have it hidden with a divider wall and it's a
necessary evil in the dining room. I don't see any major flaws with
your current layouts in terms of space flow and organization.

My biggest parting critiques is I would add more lounge seating
upstairs as it is a lounge and many of your perspective views still
have muddy colors for floor and ceiling. I would adjust those few
things before you prepare your final portfolio for job interviews.
Also, maybe now that you have more time, I would practice some hand
sketches to add to your project folder as this seems to be one of
your current weaknesses.

All in all, I give you high marks for this project. If you happen to
be doing job interviews in the Denver area let us know. I'm sure we
are looking for talented Jr. Designers as our company is growing and
we will be moving to a new building soon as we have out grown this
one.

Job well done and give yourself a pat on the back. The lessons you
have learned on this project can be applied to most of life's
problems (persistence and patience and being open to change).

You can thank me by having confidence in yourself and holding out for
a really good starter job. Don't settle for just any job even if you
have to wait a year. This project will allow you to demonstrate your
current design skills and get your foot in the door for almost any
design firm, especially those focused on Restaurant and Hospitality
design.

Hang Loose and do something fun over the Summer!!!!!

Wow, I can't beileve it?! Where does the time go? I guess they weren't lying when they said the first day, we will form tight bonds with each other! I think I may cry. I'm going to miss some of the kids so much, we have been through hell trying to get our degrees. Sadley half of us probably won't see each other very much or at all. Well it's been a blast, I've made some awsome friends, and I hope we all succeed.

*Oh my, I hope I got the kitchen right?
*I still have a pick up issue for the waitstaff
*I dont have enough room to put a second wait-station between the
left side of the raised area because of the ramp has to be enclosed
and the door opens to far into the space.
* I removed the other freezer
* I made an aisle outside for seating
*Made the Matrie'D more curved
*Added the curved wall to the dishwash area
*Added back my curved divider wall
*I still need to add skylights, I'm about to mess with that our
sections for showing the light in the interior is due Wed.
* My concern about putting tables behind the Matrie D' station is
that you won't have enough room to get by to meet the code and you
will be able to see into the restrooms and that was the purpous of
putting up the wall to cover the view from seeing into the
restrooms.

Ok, so I have sent you my current plan with both floors planned.
Those drawings are on "Plan Recover".
The next drawing I am sending to you is an isometric that I did
last night before I played with the kitchen and etc. this morning.
Don't worry the round tables that you are going to see in place of
the square tables is only to help me to see what the planned space
looks like, and to draw the square around them so I draw them
right. I have not done anything with the ceilings yet, I have no
idea what to do with the ceilings, I'm about to start trying
tofigure that out and start planning that and the lighting. Carroll
just passed by my desk,I told her this was being sent to you. This

03/10/06 Floor Plan Update

Ok, sorry it has taken me to the end of the week to get this back, it has been a rough week. I still am having issues with my back of the house, I 'm trying to make it work, but I still have issues, I still need a place for the wait staff to pick up the food, a divider between the bar and the main dining and have to round out the dishwash area. So anyway this is the corrections that I have so far. I'll be posting again shortly after I try and rework the BOH again.

Well this past thursday had to be the worst day that I have had in a while. I managed to break my laptop, and so 1500 dollars later I'm up and running again. I got eveything transfered onto the new laptop the next day luckily. My only delima is Photoshop. I am downloading the free trial until I can figure out something else.

*Well I have changed some seating arrangements and tried to mix those up
*I added a curved partition wall to seperate dining from the bar.
*I worked on the bathroom ADA problem and moved that wall out, I saw what you meant about not being enough turning space.
* I moved the janitor closet from the front it is now between the Men's restroom and the kithcen area.
* I added 3 skylights to the floor plan
* I added some curve intrest to the exhibition kitchen
* I think I corrected the grill area the way I was supposed to?.
* I checked seating and aisle dimensions, took out more round tables and added more square tables.
*I added a Menu to blog so that you could see what my menu looked like. Carroll had me redo that over the break.
*Picked out some ceiling fans those are pretty cool.
* I ordered flooring samples from Best Buy Elite they should be in soon.
* I added a question list to blog and some more updates, I tried to date them so you wouldn't be so confused sorry about that.
* I added outside seating too

Your right about sketching I'll get it on it.

P.s.
Arn't sprinkers and air vents each spaced 150 sq ft apart? Lighting scares me too.

*Of the natural stone surfaces available these days, none has been time tested the way soapstone has. Unlike granite and marble, it’s nonporous and chemically neutral, so problem spills – red wine, lemon acid, tomato sauce, olive oil, and such – just aren’t a problem. The stone is also temperature neutral, so red hot cookware placed on top isn’t a problem either.

*So, what is this unique substance, anyway? Soapstone is mined from quarries here in Vermont and other places around the world. It’s comprised of talc, quartz and various impure minerals compressed over millions of years in the earth. There are two types of soapstone – artistic, which has a higher talc content and is quite soft. Artists use this type for its ease in carving.

*Soapstone has been a staple in labs for ages because it’s extremely durable and impervious to virtually all chemicals.

*As with any soapstone, it starts out as a light gray color, mellowing to a deep, warm charcoal with oiling and age. Rubbing with mineral oil is part of the care soapstone requires. With each application of oil, soapstone’s beauty and character becomes more apparent. And, because each piece is slightly different in color and veining, no two are ever alike.
